Thomas Jefferson Yencer alias Bell's descendants are covered in detail in two books: Six Brothers from Hinsdale and Yentzer, Yencer & Yancer Part I. He and Marietta Swift were the parents of six boys who were raised in the area of Hinsdale, New York. The author is Tom's great grandson.

Six Brothers from Hinsdale: The Bell Family History (1991) $30
by George E. Bell
ISBN 0-9623275-1-4
This family history book focuses on all Bell family groups who share the line from Thomas Jefferson Yencer/Bell, up to the publication date of 1991. [Note: All these families are continued to the present in Yentzer, Yencer & Yancer: Part 1.] With facts from Tom's Civil War Navy Pension record, it documents how the Bell name came to be. Tom said it was his mother's maiden name.
The earliest family members made their way to Mt. Morris, Livingston County, New York, in the early 1800s. Many settlers were German as was Bemjamin F. Yencer, Tom's father. His mother Electa was likely of Irish descent. Tom served as a First Class Boy in the Union Navy, mostly aboard the S.S. Cayuga, from May 1864 to November 1865. After his discharge from the Navy, Tom's circumstances changed and so did his name. He moved to the Cuba, New York area where he met and married Marietta Swift. They raised their family of six boys in Hinsdale, Cattaraugus County, New York.
During the research, people generously shared their stories. Many biographies include schools attended, jobs, homes, how couples met, family holiday traditions, favorite food at grandma's, left or right handedness, color of eyes and more.
The book is 8 1/2 x 11, hard bound and gold stamped. Indexed; 250 pages.
