This book has been in progress since at least 2014. That year marked 100 years since the last Pancio brother, John, immigrated to the US.
There was so much input from relatives that we published an exact reprint of the 1993 original (softcover, print on demand at Lulu.com). We then restyled the new material as a standalone book. It finished at 254 pages!
An illustrated Foreword, Journey to Tylawa and Pancios in Ukraine by Linda Wilmarth Pancio, tells the story of her 1996 visit to Lega and Pancio relatives. Photographs from that trip enrich many parts of the book. We were so excited to be able to fill out Daniel Pancio's descendants.

The women on the cover include the above picture of the wives of the three immigrant brothers taken at Mike and Stella Pancio's wedding in 1951.
From left: (Mrs. Neporadny), (Mrs. Paul) Anastasia Lega Pancio, (Mrs. Simon Maksymik), (Mrs. Thomas Smolnycki), (Mrs. George Olexa), (Mrs. Daniel Grega), and (Mrs. John) Anastasia Nellie Pushkar Pancio.
An inset to the cover is (Mrs. Frank) Pelagia Shwahla Pancio, left.

The book is dedicated to George Bell, researcher-author of the original Pancio history book, shown here with Anna Pancio Bunga (Frank's daughter) and Eva Pancio Smolnicki (Paul's daughter) during a research trip to Auburn, New York, in 1992.

This is the back cover. It shows the fabulous trio of cousins who coordinated their branches. Also, at the top, Linda Pancio Wilmarth and her father Paul and their spouses with Ivan/John and Michail Pancio in the "old country" in 1996.

<![CDATA[Research in Argentina]]>Mon, 23 Mar 2015 19:11:47 GMThttp://wayneridge.com/wayne--ridge-blog/research-in-argentinaPicture
In October 2014, we visited Buenos Aires in Argentina to restart our research for the de Nicola - Persoglia family history. We moved on to Chaco province to visit two more sisters. While there, we copied numerous old family photos and children's art. We met Raquela's sister, another de Nicola.
In this photo, though, we are just enjoying a holiday in Mendoza, the heart of Argentine wine country. The "shadow selfie" is one of many photos in that beautiful place. From left to right: George, Jean, and Raquela. One excursion through a high valley in the Andes Mountains took us to the border of Chile. The provincial park is home to the highest mountain peak, Aconcagua, outside of Asia. (We did not climb it!) Now, to finishing the book.

<![CDATA[2013 YENCER-BELL SERIES / REUNION 2012]]>Wed, 20 Feb 2013 15:46:13 GMThttp://wayneridge.com/wayne--ridge-blog/2013-yencer-bell-series-reunion-2012Picture
Happy New Year (plus Valentine's Day and almost, St. Pat's)!
One highlight of our year 2012 was attending, in August, The Yancer Family Reunion at Greg Yancer's in Michigan. Except for Wilbur, we had not met anyone before. What a warm welcome we received. We stayed in Greg and Jan's fifth wheeler with all the comforts of home, and being on the premises did not miss a moment of the action. Some of the kids were interested in finding out about their ancestors and seeing their own names in a book.

This is us with Greg and Jan.
They really pulled together a lot of detail. They arranged for camping on the lot next to theirs, so many family members had the convenience of 24/7 visiting.
A dish-to-pass meal and camp breakfast the next day was perfect.

The above group is Greg's siblings and their spouses. His mother Shirley (wife of Spark Yancer) is in the sunglasses. They are all descendants of Horace Yancer, who moved from New York state to Michigan in 1846 at the age of 13. Their stories are told in Yentzer, Yencer & Yancer, Part 1.

<![CDATA[Journey to a Big Family History]]>Tue, 09 Mar 2010 23:36:26 GMThttp://wayneridge.com/wayne--ridge-blog/post-title-click-and-type-to-editPicture
In 1988, George Bell contacted his long-lost cousin James G. Yancer to find out if their great grandfathers were really related. Thomas Jefferson Yencer and James A. Yancer were sons of Benjamin F, Yencer. Tom became known as Thomas Jefferson Bell after the Civil War. The result was Six Brothers from Hinsdale.

David and Linda in Italy
The next stop was Smolice, Poland and telling George's mother’s story in The Giermeks in America. Then, Linda and David helped to research Jean’s father’s story in Italy, published as The Planos from Piedmont.
Now the whole family became involved in completing the fourth book, The Pancios from Galicia about Jean's mother’s Russian heritage.

Picture
Town halls and libraries opened their doors in New York, Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania. The Hoyt Library in Saginaw, Michigan, was a mother lode of information about Horace Yancer's descendants.
And during the Michigan visit, Wil Yancer shared famillly data that he had already collected.

Picture
Suddenly, it seemed as if our grandchildren would have a lopsided history. So, we teamed up with their other grandparents and headed off to find their other roots. We went to Ireland with Bob and Ruth Conway to tell the story of The Conways of Ireland: Descendants of John Conway of Waterford, Ireland.

Picture
We also set off with Raquel Persoglia to trace lines of migration from Italy to Argentina. The line followed Raquel's daughter to California where she and our son live with two of our grandchldren.
During this time, the mountain of Yencer and Yancer data grew. George typed and typed the biographies; Jean began the work of styling the books and finding illustrations.

Picture
We were lucky to meet Lena Manning who shared her collection of Sam Yencer's Civil War memorabilia kept by the Blanchard family.

Picture
Virginia Kelley DeMarte is an example of the people who went out of their way to fill in data on an entire family.
Without these and other historian partners, our books would not be as complete and surely not as vibrant. We are thankful for them!

<![CDATA[First Post!]]>Sat, 27 Feb 2010 18:23:08 GMThttp://wayneridge.com/wayne--ridge-blog/first-postSince it was established in 1989, Wayne & Ridge Publishing has developed a booklist of personal family history and assisted histories for allied families. Once George took his early retirement, he was off on a quest to answer old questions that popped up during family story-telling. When the details hit critical mass, he enlisted Jean to wrestle them into book form.

Lore and genealogy gave way in time to the need for the social history of immigrant ancestors, and a fuller history began to take form. That's how maternal ancestors as well as paternal lineage crept into the full story being told to a new generation.

Once there were grandchildren, it was easy to see that our half of their story was just that--one half. So George enlisted the other grandparents to assemble the rest of the story.]]>
